I have a classic Mercedes Benz 300SL roadster that I love a bit too much & in searching for the real right stuff to use in sealing the timing case cover at the crucial mating surfaces where it suffers from a unique weep over time, the forums returned a favourable recommendation for the use of Hylomar, if used or applied correctly. It was not easy to find through normal avenues so a big thank you to OutBoard Spares for coming up with the goods. Problem hopefully solved for a long time now!

I bought this after watching a video that demonstrates the proper way to use it and how good it is. I previously tried a Loctite product that let me down. Buy this Hylomar and your leaking gasket worries are over forever. My biggest tip with this stuff is to apply it with a bare finger as it's the only way to ensure you get a thin enough spread while controlling where it goes. Apply to finger first, then spread it on the parts. Pay close attention in the video about what he says regarding spreading it and the dangers of putting it on too thin. This stuff never fully dries, so you can wipe it off easily from previously coated parts, unlike some other products. A dream to work with and does what it says on the box. This is the only gasket sealant to get.

I was very happy with the service and all parts was correct and arrived in a reasonable time frame. Im no mechanic by any means but after a couple of YouTube vids I had a crack at it and went to test my work out. The boat motor ran like a dream. Highly recommend your business and service. A non setting sealant can be relied on. I've used it for years without a failure. I came across the product many years ago from its prescribed use in aircraft engines. I've even successfully used it to reuse a cylinder head gasket in desperate times. (Note this use is NOT Recommended)
